Goosebumps

I am all over the place for sure today (the last few days really). Between worrying about things that I have no business worrying about, trying to complete my goals, work, and general adult skills I feel defeated. I’m struggling to find inspiration and motivation to be consistent. I don’t want to go to work tomorrow. I find myself exhausted the moment I get home (because my Job is exhausting and so is being at home). I look around my apartment and it’s a disaster (even for me it’s bad) and yet I have no energy to fix it. I can’t focus on anything for very long, I’m getting headaches and joint pain again (I was like this all through out high school). And yet I don’t feel nearly as stressed as I did as a teenager. I don’t understand it at all.  I’m sure that people who see me in person and then read here may be confused. I’m seemingly fine  most days. I’m good at masks. I feel the most authentic at work with my clients. Useful, mostly happy, and capable. I’m good at my job. Why ...

Let's Talk About Tuesday

Today was a great day. It was a good day at work (despite the clients having a silent group because they are misbehaving), I looked hella cute in my dress and makeup and hair and over all good vibes #BossLadyMondayonaTuesday. Anella and I went to see The Nun because we have been trying to do this since it came out. We finally got to see it and it was freaky but not terrible. Jump scares mostly and general suspense. It is so different to go to the movies with a girl friend rather than a significant other, it seems more playful you know? As planned, she and I then went to the Mall to get our favorite food court Chinese food. It was fabulous (and fattening) but so good. While we were eating, a man approached us and walked if we wanted to play trivia to which Anella responded "she does" because I am chalk full of useless information (IS THAT THE CORRECT SPELLING OF THAT PHRASE???). So we start playing trivia while we eat. I don't think I have ever been that competitive ab...

Tag

Today’s food intake was... hard to quantify. I’m noticing unfavorable increases on my weight chart and I know I need to change my food intake. The goal here is to get back to a reduced amount of calories and increase in physical exertion. I think I hit around 2000 calories today (guessing because there as a party) and I should be at 1200 ideally.  One of the interns is leaving (so sad) and we had a brunch celebration for her going away party. Bagels, donuts, cookies, strudel, breakfast burritos, fruit. So many carbs. I made an effort not to consume everything. And that was my big meal for the day so that was a small win as far as portion goes.  It the content... well. Not great. Peter and I later tried to go see Tag but the projector broke so we got a free ticket to any other movie. Peter chose Skyscraper immediately and that’s what we did. Now I am going to bed so that I can be back to work for a few hours by 7.

These Are Not Joanna Eggs!

If you don't know who Joanna is, please see above. She's a Goanna (reptilian creature who crawls on all fours and eat eggs and things) who is a minor character in "The Rescuers Down Under."  The reason she is featured in today's post is because the theme song for that Disney movie has been playing all day at work as part of the fountain show. I heard it mid afternoon and immediately recognized it. I even said to myself "Well now I have to watch The Rescuers Down Under." And here I am doing just that as we wind down for the night.  Water intake was good today and food was decent. So far breakfast has been the low calorie density meal and based on the scale, I have lost three more pounds. But we shall see. Tomorrow is supposed to be a WellDressedWednesday.

"Scar Is Gone, But Zira's Still Around"

Today was such an odd day. I've never had a 330-930 shift and it didn't start out great.  I had a terrible headache for the first two hours and got dizzy. I ate a Reese's and had a soda. Neither of these I really wanted to do but I needed to try something. And that is what worked. The rest of the day went by easily and a co worker and I talked about Lion King 2, Simba's Pride. And now I am watching it before bed because why not?

Of Headaches and Hormone Changes

Sorry if that title is too much for you dear reader. Life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. Some times it is messy. Today was an anger filled, headache (literally and figuratively). Everyone needed something from me (including the cat!) and I was just soooo cranky all day. I just wanted chocolate and a nap. Both of which did not happen. I got most of my stuff done and ate decently until dinner (We went to Moes...). I put in some time at the gym and then boyfriend and I watched Jennifer's Body.  Now I am watching National Treasure 2 and letting my face turn to stone using a charcoal mask. This is all in preparation for the wedding!! 12 MORE DAYS!!  AHHHHH!!! This week will be filled with good skin choices and possibly some make up purchases for my self and maybe a hair mask...  Can you tell I am tired? Again, not ever part of life is pretty. It is grainy and discolored at time; a mess that needs to tame its hair and detox its face. Good night.

Hilarity

Today was full of laughs which was great. Peter and I saw Blockers with his friend Tony and his girlfriend! I thought this movie was hilarious but I’ve also been up for a looonnngggg time.  Work was fun too, I got everything done and got Pollo Tropical!! My sister also texted me, for the first time ever in my 11 years of having a cell phone, how much she loves me! Which was super cool and fun.  My sister tells me she loves me all the time in person but I’ve never had it (that I can recall) like this:

I Know, I Know

I missed yesterday.  In my defense, I ended up working from 930am-1155pm. I also got blood work drawn.  The down side to that was I had three donuts.  Today was rainy and miserable at work but! Erika and I got to dance to the German band at the same time so that was exciting!  I started my 6th book of the year and Peter and I went to see the Pacific Rim sequel.

Tomb Raider (sleep raider)

I would like to point out, even if the posts are technically late, I have been pretty good about posting something each day! So go me for that.  We went to see Tomb Raider because why not. It wasn’t terrible and had some really cool aspects. I’ve never played the game or seen the originals so I had no comparisons. Peter put it at between mediocre and average but he’s really tired to who knows what that means. Work was crazy this week and it was unrelenting. Also I’m experisorry being memory issues?  Others wins- maintaining at 4 lbs off, talking with Catherine’s mom about the wedding shower, sending out final invites for her Bachelorette, drank a good amount of water.

Goal Eight

Its goal time!! Which I read in my head as Blue Clues' Mail Time but this is fine. Boyfriend keeps harping about budgets. And while he's not wrong, I've never had one before? Being out of school means I don't have the school money security blanket that I have grown so fond of over the last eight trillion years I've been going to college. So today I started making a Budget. I am still waiting on some stuff to iron out but right now I am in a preliminary stage where I can set up various bills and incomes through my bank account in addition to text alerts. It all seems so strange whenever I do  "adult" things. It shouldn't but it does. Hopefully this gets easier with time and I can work towards making lasting change. In other new, went to the Gym then had Moes with the boyfriend while we watched Pirates of the Caribbean 5.  I also may have gotten Anella started on the Splintered series and made a little bit of progress on some work organization. We ...

The Last Jedi and Elf Supplies

Friday's are busy days but today was exceptionally busy. We are down staff members at work which means everyone has to do extra things. And then I'm generally bad a time management so that's not helpful. And then Anella and I had some elf supplies to get for things we are planning for Christmas! I'm going to be Jingle and she's going to be Bells and then we will be Jingle Bells together and get to spread Christmas cheer to all the clients! We have bells and skirts and hats and leggings and all the festive things! That follows seeing The Last Jedi with the boyfriend. It was so much better than Force Awakens but I still have a reservations. All the Leia feels though!! And Luke!! I don't really care about our new characters though #unpopularopinion. Go see it and see what you think for yourself.

Black Friday

I have worked on Black Friday for the last five years. While this year is no exception to working, for the first time in five years I did NOT have to work retail which is a blessing. I have never understood the appeal of this "holiday." Its chaotic, stressful, and takes away from the meaning of thanksgiving. BUT I won't turn this into a PSA post. I didn't have to work retail and I'm thankful for that! I got to do the whole therapy thing that I do and ran groups. Then I got to go to the movies with my officemate and eat really yummy mall Chinese food. he movie was "Murder of the Orient Express' which wasn't the best thing in the world (although I image it was better than Justice League... I joke I joke I kid I kid) but it was entertaining! We also kind of geeked out over cute Christmas clothes and accessories while we window shopped. What I didn't get to do was go to the gym which means this week will not be a 3x a week success. However, my excus...
